Australia has lost its Hopman Cup playoff against Italy 2-1 after Bernard Tomic and Sam Stosur left their mixed doubles match against Andreas Seppi and Flavia Pennetta.
The match was pretty one-sided, as the Italian couple had more experience with the number of years of Australia for most of the match and eventually ran out 6-3, 6-4 winners.
Australia is now out of the competition in the Hopman Cup, after Stosur lost her singles tie against Pennetta and despite Tomic won against Seppi.
Australia completed their schedule Hopman Cup when they face Poland on Thursday.
